COSPLAY EVENTS AT THE JAPANESE ART FESTIVAL A whole weekend of free and fun activities! This weekend, the Japanese Art Festival will be hosting a whole programme of cosplay events, including competitions, workshops and a photography session! As well as the usual Saturday masquerade, there will be an extra cosplay competition on Sunday at 12pm. Win some great prizes, courtesy of Koei-Tecmo, MVM, Optimum and Third Window Films! There will also be two workshops hosted by talented and well-known cosplayers. On Saturday at 12:30pm, well-known cosplayer Kelly (Ai Honey) will be hosting an under-16's cosplay workshop. There will be a short talk and demonstrations followed by a 'cosplay in 10 minutes' competition! On Sunday at 1:30pm, Laura Sindall (Sands) and Julia Laurant (Cyrus) will be hosting a workshop for cosplayers of all ages, giving advice on sewing, pattern making and armour making techniques. Both Laura and Julia are experienced cosplayers, members of the Koei-Tecmo cosplay team and students at the London College of Fashion, so they will be sharing their trade tips with us! There will also be a cosplay photography session by Mark Spooner Photography on both days. Please note there will be a small charge for the photography session. Laura, Julia and Kelly will also be judging the cosplay events. So get your best costume on and join us in Richmond for the best Japanese Art festival yet!
