Title: The Slayers

Creator:  Hajime Kanzaka/Shoko Yoshinaka

Overview:  The ongoing adventures of the incredibly powerful 15 year old sorceress Lina Inverse.  Lina travels the globe fighting evil bandits and returning their treasure to it's rightful owner.  Well...she keeps it, but at least she beats the bad guys.  In between the bandit killing she acts a mercenary and ends up with some very unusual allies in some very unusual situations, but she is always on the lookout for her first love.  Which happens to be food before you get the wrong idea...

Comments:
Ric: 'frequently funny swords and sorcery series featuring a great cast and some truly pyrotechnic spells.'

Tom: 'It may be frightfully clichéd, but look past that and you’ll be welcomed with one of the most fast-paced, action adventure anime around. Fun fun fun!'

Pointless Trivia:

  • There have been several Slayers computer games, novels and radio plays available in Japan but none have been released in the west.

  • Slayers originated as a series of illustrated short stories in Japanese magazine Dragon.

  • Superstar voice actress and singer Megumi Hayashibara provides Lina's voice in the Japanese dub.

  • Impressively chested sorceress Naga The White Serpent is never mentioned in the animé series despite appearing in all the films.
