A young woman called Hiroe Ogawa has trouble reaching
orgasm and so turns to toys, psychics, family members, lesbian friends,
hypnotism and even demonic possession in order to reach her goal. Yep, believe
it or not that actually passes for a plot.
It must be said that this is Hentai (a Japanese word meaning ‘Pervert’ or
‘Perverted’ but now synonymous with anime porn) so such things as
characterisation and an intelligent plot are not exactly high on the list of
priorities. From that point of view the premise behind this is inspired.
Instead of some pointless exposition at the beginning about some girl’s school
day or ancient demon’s imprisonment, F3 comes up with a plot that gives the
punter exactly what they want from the word go – ie. Young animated women sans
clothing. It also takes a more light hearted view than many other titles in its
genre, ejecting the usual sexual violence in favour of sexual humour.
The comedy in F3 is its best feature, from bizarre sound effects accompanying
the introduction of new methods of solving Hiroe’s problem to random on-screen
captions (one character is introduced as ‘Hiroe’s friend and well known
lesbian’) and a possessed teddy bear armed with vibrators, F3’s tongue is firmly
in its cheek. However, as this is Hentai you can also rest assured of plenty of
nudity and sex scenes from the outset.
Unfortunately the sex is where it falls down. For someone who is specifically
looking for animated porn the sex scenes in this would probably be a bit mild,
generally involving lots of nude writhing with anything stronger represented by
splodges of colour and lightning flashes on a black background. The reverse is
also true, as people looking for a mild sex comedy may find some of the sex
scenes drag on for far too long without much happening. It does occasionally
seem to be undecided as to what it wants to be, and ends up not quite being one
thing or the other. One thing that must be complimented though is that the sex
is usually between consenting adults and for the most part not forced, which is
a refreshing change to most Hentai.
To be honest F3 is not that bad, it’s never going to win awards but as animated
porn goes it is pretty good, keeping a good sense of humour throughout and
avoiding rape scenes (although Hiroe is initially forced to partake in a lesbian
orgy in the second episode). Considering the pretty abhorrent way many Hentai
titles handle sex it’s good to see a title take a light hearted stance and avoid
the usual trappings of the genre. If you want a Hentai title you could do far
worse than this (far, far worse, believe me), and it gives a good taster for the
genre. Extras
