Name: Reiss Latimer
(a.k.a. ryaoki)

Q: When did you start cosplaying and how long for?

I started cosplaying around mid 2006. 

Q: What attracts you cosplay?

Everything.  Mostly bringing my favourite character to real 3D life, choosing what to use for each costume and making it my own. 

Q:  What has been your favourite cosplay?

Well I'd have to say Urahara (from Bleach - ed.) overall, but my new favourite will definatly be Gohan (from Dragon Ball Z - ed.).

Q: Most memorable moment whilst cosplaying?

As Anbu Kakashi (from Naruto - ed.), on stage in front of 200 people at Japan EX,  Stuart Claw asked me why I loved Kakashi.  I replied "pshh isn't it obvious?  Because he reads porn in public, a hero among men!" MangaChild betted me to say it and I did, he was proud lmao.

Q:  Have you had any cosplays go wrong/encountered problems whilst making cosplays?

Yes.  Last October, as I had left everything to the last minute, I ended up hitting a problem of getting my helmet smooth (errr... - ed.). I couldn't do it in time so I ended up not using that costume. 

Q:  Have you ever regretted cosplaying?

Nope, never.  I have always enjoyed the costumes that I've done. 

Q:  Have you ever done group cosplay? If so how did you find that experience?

I have done a lot of group cosplays.  I find it a lot of fun being in photoshoots and skits with other characters from the same series or game. 

Q:  What cosplays are you planning?

My upcoming cosplays are my remake of Black Star (from Soul Eater - ed.), Simon, and remake of Gohan. 

Q:  Do you have a dream cosplay?

Yes. Aspharr from Ninety-Nine Nights and Azai Nagamasa from Samurai Warriors 2. 

Q:  Do you have one piece of advice that you would give to cosplay virgins?

Take your time, choose a character you are really passionate about and don't EVER be afraid to ask common cosplayers for help.  We are always up and happy for helping you.
