Cosplay interviews! A weekly feature on Animetion where we talk to cosplayers on what motivates them, plus a cool gallery showcasing their cosplays.  Here we talk to UK cosplayer:

Name: Tim Lunn
(a.k.a. Hitmanx2)

Q: When did you start cosplaying and how long for?

After going to MCM London Expo in 2006 and seeing everyone cosplaying looked like so much fun, so I first cosplayed in 2007 at a Tokyopop recon in London.  The funny thing was I was the only person to turn up in cosplay so I ended coming first in the cosplay competition by default sadly.  I have never won a cosplay competition again but I did come third once.

Q: What attracts you cosplay?

The people.  I have made so many friends through cosplay who are very friendly.  I am always meeting new people which is a great thing.  Also I love making skits to making everyone laugh.

Q:  What has been your favourite cosplay?

Oh that is a hard one.  I have had some great times as Edward from Full Metal Alchemist, and Hope has had many great moment, but I have to say Charlie the Unicorn I wore at the last MCM London Expo.  I could not go five steps without someone stopping me for a picture and everyone yelling Charlie lets go to candy mountain!!!

Q: Most memorable moment whilst cosplaying?

Well that is another hard one.  I would say Final Fantasy XIII (FF13) lunch and being on cosdoc.  FF13 lunch was great as I was one the only people dressed as a FF13 character, so the press wanted to talk to me all day which was really cool.  At the end of the event they were all lined up just to talk to me, plus I won a load of FF13 art toys that were not even out at the time, a nice thing.

Cosdoc was set of ads for an anime TV channel called Anime Central
which I was a part of.  It was such a fun day filming it, the guys who filmed me where great and said I should have my own show!  Also when the ads come out they used the one featuring me a lot, which was a cool.

Q:  Have you had any cosplays go wrong/encountered problems whilst making cosplays?

Not really.  If I do have a problem, I normally find a way around it.

Q:  Have you ever regretted cosplaying?

Again, not really.  I just think anything that does not kill me will make me stronger.

Q:  Have you ever done group cosplay? If so how did you find that experience?

Well as I do skits I have done some cosplay groups.  It is great fun as you have someone else with you on stage.  I have also been to a few photo shots at MCM Expo and other conventions which have been really fun.

Q:  What cosplays are you planning?

Oh a few.  I've got Len from Vocaloid, the Colonel (?) and a few others in mind but I am not saying more then that.

Q:  Do you have a dream cosplay?

Yes but it is top secret.  I plan to make it next year.

Q:  Do you have one piece of advice that you would give to cosplay virgins?

Have fun and keep trying.  You are going to fail a lot but failure can be a good thing and will make you a better cosplayer.

Q:  Do you have an account with the website Cosplay Island/other social networking sites?

Yes you can find me here:
