5. Tuxedo Mask (Sailor Moon)

Suave hunky hero who sports a killer top hat but is far from being a stupid rich boy.  Tuxedo appears from nowhere to rescue the Sailor Scouts whenever they need his help.  They never call him though; he always appears at the right moment and announces his appearance buy throwing a rose into the ground.  Is it just a coincidence that he is always in the right place at the right time?  It must be something to do with the hat...

  4. Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece)

Only a wacky character like Monkey could wear such a bad straw hat and get away with it.  He is a pirate who can’t swim and doesn’t have crew or a boat.  However he is made of rubber, invulnerable to bullets and his skull and crossbones flag also sports a hat - brilliant!

3. D (Vampire Hunter D)

The year is 12,090 AD, vampires plague the Earth and thankfully hats are still very much in fashion.  D is blessed with a darkly gothic black hat which often shades his features, adding greatly to his looming appearance.  I somehow doubt he would be a master vampire hunter without such a cool hat.

2. Yotsuya (Maison Ikkoku)

Although not always upon his person, master pervert Yotsuya also sports a rather sparkling hat.  However, Yotsuya does represent the darker side of the hat as he only uses it when on one of his perving escapades.  Despite the dark side of the hat Yotsuya is a very entertaining character and this must all be down to the hat.

1. Jigen (Lupin III)

One of Lupin’s gang and one of the coolest characters in anime without a doubt.  Jigen sports a hat which perfectly suits his character when combined with the rest of his get up.  This is the kind of character that makes you want to buy a hat.
