For once we had a free weekend, so we decided to fill it with beer and as much random anime as we could find!  Yes, it's the third of our irregular Drunk Review sessions, and this time we made sure we were nicely tanked up before we started.  So after several beers and a few games of Pro Evo we were ready to start, albeit later than we intended!

Rich: Drinking and anime viewing are a perfect combination, and we had no hesitation in doing a third Drunk Reviews session when we found out we had some rare free time.  This time we decided to get the drinking underway well before we started writing, and also had an immense curry and a few games of Pro Evo to get us in the right frame of mind.  I think it worked better doing it this way, but it did mean that we started later than before.

Last time I still took a bit too much care over the reviews, writing slowly and correcting spelling even when drunk.  Because of that they weren't very funny, but this time I decided not to look at what I'd written till this morning.  As a result the reviews are a bit more random, and to be honest, completely illegible in places.  Ah well.

In the past we have taken it in turns to pick what to watch, this time we just grabbed a load of titles and put up whatever we fancied at the time.  It was a good mix too, with quite a few comedies joined by some actioners and even some old VHS titles.  No hentai this time though, you can't have it all...

Tom: * nurses hangover * wow!  Considering anime & drinking is a perfect combination - we haven't done enough drunk reviews!  So yay for more!

Rather then go for the hentai option this time, we went for a combination madcap comedy, action and early '90s crap.  We weren't picky in our choices either!  From the superb action of Gunsmith Cats to completely dire Street Fighter II V - drunk anime viewing knows no bounds.

Looking back at my reviews in the morning, I realised they were even more random then before and generally make little sense.  But when you are watching insanity like Hare & Guu after multiple cans of beer and shot of whiskey - do you expect them to make sense?  Some of the selected shows make little sense when sober, but when drunk you ignore why doesn't make sense and just take it at face value.  Cromartie High School was much funnier when drunk, as speed-line scenes garnered many minutes of stupid laughing.  But the finest example of drunk viewing in this selection has to be Street Fighter II V - barely watchable when sober, comedy genius whilst drunk!
